ARE WE THERE YET?

Hello, faithful Blogging Buddies!! My sincere apology for the time delay in posting. Things should be improving now.

Alright. Let's cover a few things that have happened since May 15th.

The spousal-unit and I returned to Austin on May 20th to finish loading up (mostly) yard art and yard tools along with the Harley. We rented the largest U-Haul trailer available (12' long, 6' wide) and didn't have room for the Harley. Sigh. It remains comfortably cozy in my neighbor's garage until The Ron-Man can get back over there to retrieve it. (Thank you, Ginny!)

As we headed west, we realized the Avalanche would turn 100,000 miles on the way. In honor of that event, there was some experimentation that eventually resulted in the following:

... at this juncture...

... and just before this (significant?).

Okay. So you have all now shared in that momentous occasion with us. Cheers!! :)

We continue to attempt to find places for all of our "stuff." It is tremendously more challenging than we thought it would be but we will make it work. I will mention I see some sizable donation boxes headed for the local Humane Society soon (Susan L., are you listening?). When you open the moving box and say "Hmmmm. Why did I keep this again?", you know it is time to re-evaluate a lot!

But... we have found time to relax and rejuvenate recently. It really helps to have a "pool boy" or a "cabana boy" handy (I'm thinking of you, Sherry Burgeson!) to ease the way. Sometimes what you wish for is in your own back yard! :)

And we'll always stand by what Buster used to say (R.I.P., Buster!):

Yep... it's always 5 o'clock somewhere!! (Thanks for the coolest housewarming gift, Debbie!)

Alright. I've gone long on this. I will regale you with tales of the jungle front beds soon. I didn't really need a machete... but it was close! Oh... and there's that whole ISP thing you will enjoy hearing about. I also have a rant about recycling (the total lack thereof) in this place. Oh... and then there is the job search I am on. Stay tuned!!

Until next post...

TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY, RIGHT, SCARLETT?

Okay. This won't be long but I figure you all think I fell into a swamp and got eaten by a 'gator so I'd better take a few moments to type to disprove that theory!

Closing on May 1st went fine. On May 2nd, this is what I saw coming down my new street:
Lord help us. Are those BOTH full of our "stuff?" Yep. Sure are.
Everyone got right to work and things began coming off the trucks and making their way into the house.

The parties adapting most quickly to this move are the "boyz." Demon and Dude could care less about the pandemonium that is the interior of the house right now. They only have eyes for the new squirrels and birds that occupy the yard!

What I have learned this time around is:
1) I'm way too old to move, and
2) I'm way too old to move.

While it has been nearly two weeks and I could have had this whole place whipped into shape by now were I much younger and had not collected so much "stuff", the reality is:

Oh... and did I mention that my aunt's garage (see http://louisianatown.blogspot.com/2009/04/round-one-let-pigeons-loose.html) remains about half-full? Sigh.

Until next time, Blogging Buddies!! Hang with me!
